Land Acknowledgement

Land Acknowledgement

Avenida Place Medical Centre respectfully acknowledges that we live, work, and provide care on the traditional territories of the peoples of Treaty 7, including the Blackfoot Confederacy — Siksika, Kainai, and Piikani Nations — as well as the Tsuut’ina Nation and the Îyâxe Nakoda Nations, including the Chiniki, Bearspaw, and Goodstoney First Nations.

We also acknowledge that Calgary is home to the Otipemisiwak Métis Government, Districts 5 and 6, and to Indigenous Peoples from many Nations who live, work, and contribute to our community.

As healthcare providers, we recognize the importance of respect, listening, reconciliation, and culturally safe care. Avenida Place Medical Centre is committed to welcoming and serving Indigenous patients, families, and communities with dignity, compassion, and respect.

We are grateful for the opportunity to provide care and build community on this land.
